RIO VISTA HOUSE & ABBA

I wanted to do this blog about the Chaffey Brothers of Mildura as they established the first irrigation scheme in Australia.  I’ll go back a bit though…….as for me……it  started with Abba who performed at the Arts Centre. My sister in law surprised me with a ticket to see Bjorn Again…….which I have also learnt that my Aunt Bett loves to bits…..NOTTTTT🤣🤣🤣🤣 gotcha!!❤️❤️ We were suppose to go there together, but unfortunately she was in hospital and couldn’t make it.  It was held in the Arts Centre, where I had never been before. The Arts Centre is situated in beautiful grounds along with Rio Vista House.  All the years I had lived here, and had never visited either place! So I decided it would be on my list of “must visits” RIO VISTA…THE STORY…. We have been here in Mildura for a month now. We booked into the All Seasons Caravan Park for 3 weeks as we had been there before for quite a while when we were in lockdown last year through Covid.  We thought we would book a site that we knew, which we did…. but when we arrived, we’re told in no uncertain terms that “caravan sites cannot be booked on specific sites”.  WTF!! So long story short, we were put right down the back in between a tree and a permanent caravan. It’s was a dreadful site, and we were so glad to get out of the caravan park. How they can run a business without bookings is beyond me!! After our three weeks there in the caravan park, we were suppose to go travelling for three weeks before coming back to Mildura, but the weather has been dreadful, there’s a lot of flooding happening in Victoria, NSW & Queensland…… so we decided to stay in Mildura.  We have found another lovely, small caravan park in Mildura called River End…..and after moving in here were told it
