MILDURA. VIC.
We have been here in Mildura for a month now. We booked into the All Seasons Caravan Park for 3 weeks as we had been there before for quite a while when we were in lockdown last year through Covid.
At the back of this small caravan park where we are……is the lovely area where all those mobile homes are situated.
Just at the entrance to those homes. We have a huge area to spread out and lots of green grass. We have a very tame magpie that comes for a visit and Ed makes sure he feeds it so they don’t swoop. π
A very clean BBQ area.
Another huge Barbeque area with a spotless camp kitchen, laundry, and spotless toilets and showers. There is soap and disinfectant spray everywhere.
And we are surrounded by grapevines that are sprouting after being pruned and rolled back onto the wire ready to hold all those grapes that we all picked many many years ago in 40 degree plus summers. ππ₯΅π₯΅ being careful to dodge huge spiders π·π· Ed still sports a big scar from flicking off a huge spider on his arm and forgetting he had a very sharp picking knife in his hand ππ‘ππ
We thought we would book a site that we knew, which we did…. but when we arrived, we’re told in no uncertain terms that “caravan sites cannot be booked on specific sites”. WTF!!
So long story short, we were put right down the back in between a tree and a permanent caravan. It’s was a dreadful site, and we were so glad to get out of the caravan park. How they can run a business without bookings is beyond me!!
After our three weeks there in the caravan park, we were suppose to go travelling for three weeks before coming back to Mildura, but the weather has been dreadful, there’s a lot of flooding happening in Victoria, NSW & Queensland…… so we decided to stay in Mildura.
We have found another lovely, small caravan park in Mildura called River End…..and after moving in here were told it was previously called Sun City……which funnily enough is where Mum and Bertie moved into when they first moved up to Mildura from Geelong, many many years ago.
They bought a lovely mobile home that was built to their specifications, and had it transported from Melbourne where it was made, and moved in here.

When we found a unit to rent in Irymple, all those years ago, Mum and Dad then had that lovely mobile home moved again to another caravan park in Irymple , close to us.
After being in our rental for about 5 years, we bought our house in Irymple, and asked Mum and Dad to come live with us as we were on 3/4 of an acre.
They sold their mobile home, and we had a Housing demountable home, built in the back yard.
And then the fun and games started. We had to renovate the old house we bought, we also had to get a huge hole dug for a septic tank for Mum and Dads little home, as they couldn’t tap into ours…and get the electricity put on for them.
The land was huge, so that had to be fenced, which Ed and Bertie did together.
I can’t tell you how many post holes had to be dug by hand!
Plus we had our dogs, Cindy and Puppy that needed to be fenced in.
We gave Mum and Dad a huge part of the land. Bertie built a big shade house for his orchids, and we did the same but filled ours with ferns.
Ed also built a huge bird aviary. We had birds everywhere as the budgies laid so many eggs. We even had a beautiful parrot fly in one day, land on the aviary and wouldn’t move until will let it in there. ππ
We grew vegetables and fruit trees, and planted so many flowers and seedlings, trees and roses. We cut down huge gum trees without killing ourselves!
We had a very busy time there as we both worked full time as well…….and then the interest rates went up to nearly 18%…we ended up selling and we all made the big move to Burleigh Heads Queensland. The best move ever!
And now here we are back in Mildura. This time it’s just for a holiday. π₯°π₯°
And we are parked here.

We are over the road from the pool, which would be nice if it was warmer π₯Ά

This little caravan park is so much nicer than the one we left, cheaper and the managers are really friendly.

While here, we are celebrating a lot of family birthdays.
The first was Ed’s brother Gerry, who celebrated his 65th on the 10th of September. The followed Ed on the 12th….
Which was a lovely card from his brother.
Then we have sister in laws, Letitia & Jannene in September as well as Matthew, our nephew.
All 9 months after New Years Eve π€π€ππππππππͺ
Busy September!
We have seen a lot of Mildura and I have done a few blogs on this town, and we’ve seen everything there is to see…….but….all the years we’ve lived and visited Mildura …..we have never been to Chaffey House.
So last week when we were going past…..we stopped and went inside.
I can’t believe we had never been in there. What triggered this visit is another story.
Love to all
❤️❤️❤️
