MORE TRAVELS BACK TO TWEED HEADS.

Left Forbes in the rain and headed to Dunedoo…population 1,000

Lighting wasn’t that good as it decided to come over stormy.
We stayed the night at the small caravan park, $30….. bit overpriced, but like everything….the price has gone up.

Next day, after travelling on some horrific roads…..we got to Merriwa.
We stayed behind the Pub, which was free, got some shopping an the local IGA,
found this lovely Mural on the side wall made out of corrugated iron….

And basically stayed in the caravan as it rained all day and night.

Luckily next day, it had stopped raining, it was very muddy though where we were staying. Yuk

Headed off again, road conditions got worse, and stopped for the night at Gerry’s Plains.

It’s our usual stop free stop over. We found a nice spot next to the fence line, and had an audience as we set up.

These horses are always here to greet you every time we come.
So I had a lovely view while doing the dishes out of my kitchen window all afternoon😂😂

So we left that beautiful spot this morning and are now at Muswellbrook Showgrounds.

We have never been here before so we are looking forward to exploring the place.

And out of my kitchen window…….Aldi 😂😂😂

Muswellbrook is a town in the upper Hunter Region of NSW…..about 240klm from Sydney.
We drove through lovely countryside to get here. There were stunning Horse Studs owned by the Shiek, and another stud called Coolmore Stud which is valued at a cool 5 Billion dollars and owned by an Irishman. Coolmore is the biggest stud in Australia , that has approx 1.000 horses including 600 mares that produce 300 foals a year.

So you can imagine what these beautiful studs and their homes look like. And the security at their gates

So further on towards Muswellbrook , as well as more horse breeding..you start
to see coal mining.

Apparently there is a lot to do and see here, so we have booked in the Showgrounds for 2 weeks.
It’s $150 per week…….stay 7 nights and pay for 6..   So this is our “home” for a while.
Looking forward to seeing the sights. 😊 watch this space ❤️
