TWEED HEADS. NSW JULY 2022

It’s nice to be back home……it’s lovely catching up with family and all their news ❤️…….but…..the crowds here are unbelievable! I think we need to “go bush” again 🤣🤣
There’s so many people in the park, (how dare they!,🤣) and we should have realised from all the caravans on the road while we were away…..

We are at our usual caravan park…..but we could only get in for 1 week!!!

They are all booked out for the winter months…..C’est La Vie……(translated…….
Stiff Shit!!)🤷‍♀️

We will enjoy Tweed for the week….then off on more adventures.
The weather has been terrible, but a trip to the beach is always lovely, no matter what the weather.

It was very windy, and the chill factor wasn’t good….but the waves were huge, and the beach was closed…..but that didn’t stop the surfers.
It was “goin off”….🤙

The bush turkeys up in the tree were hanging on for dear life. 🙄

I was a bit far away….so it’s not that visible………but the man at the end of the rocks is playing a Didgeridoo.

His name is Russell Corowa…… a member of the local Bundjalung tribe. I googled him and found this lovely story about him.

“At Snapper Rocks Beach, the haunting strains of the didgeridoo and the sound of the crashing waves come together in a unique ceremony.
The almost spiritual harmony is familiar to many surfers, who greet the dawn at
Snappers.
Many mornings you will find Russell standing on the rocks with his “didge”….
Playing up a storm as he blows, taps and whoops, as if summoning waves.
The surfers in the water….whoop back appreciatively”

He says “I bless the surf and the surfers”

It’s a spiritual place for Russell and his people. In Dreamtime legend, he says this rock is a whale.
Russell’s fans include 11 time world surfing champion, American Kelly Slater, who describes Russell as “epic”

(Not my photos) he was too busy playing his Didge ❤️

All that is sea foam….and when the wind blew…everyone bolted…or got covered in it. 🤣

This lady took her duck for a walk down the beach. This is why I love Snappers……you never know what you will see.

Another beautiful sunset to end a great day…..at the best place on Earth, (in my opinion)……
Tweed and Snappers. ❤️❤️❤️😊😊

Stay safe 🦋🦋
