EUMUNGERIE NSW

Eumungerie is a small town, 37 km away from Dubbo with a population of 384, and I think that’s including the dogs in the “town” 😄

 We are staying here at the recreation reserve for $10@night, which includes power and water. 




The couple that run the place, Greg and Debbie, are so nice, and let you pick where you want to park.

They live on site, and do a great job of keeping everything looking good, and keeping the loos spotless. 




This is their quirky looking place with all bits and pieces scattered around. 
They have this shed with their caravan attached to it out the back.









Greg keeps all that firewood topped up for people to use. 

There are Sheep Dog Trials on this Thursday, so a few doggies are arriving (with their owners 😉)




We will be leaving on Wednesday  but apparently it’s a busy time so we wouldn’t have  got a spot. 


This is the oval they will be competing on with signs everywhere…


👍👍 so they should. Kids play on that oval. 

There is lots of water laying around as they’ve had so much rain right through this region. 
The skies are lovely and blue…..but oh that wind…..it’s like ice! ❄️❄️🥶🥶🥶
Even Ed has pulled out the track pants…..that just tells how cold it really is 🤣

After staying two days at Dingo, we decided we would move on. We thought the wind may have settled down a bit today, but of course…it was still blowing…so off we went to tackle it.  Luckily for us we had a great wind break all along as it was quite thick bush. 😊 So a big day driving……all of 40km 🤣…we arrived at Duaringa.  We have been here a few times before, but it’s one of our favourite camp spots.  There’s a population of 262 people.  The Dawson River is close by, and supplies Duaringa’s town water. The Dawson and MacKenzie River both join up north-east of Duaringa to form the Fitzroy River, which eventually flows through the city of Rockhampton.  A mural depicting the three rivers is painted on the back of the Duaringa Historical & Info Centre, facing the Capricorn Highway….. WANDOAN QLD

Wandoan is a lovely town in the Western Downs Region. It was formerly known as Juandah. In 1926, it was renamed Wandoan to avoid confusion with Jundah….near Longreach.  Population is 566…..with the median age of people being 38 years old! (You’d have to be young to work on this land) Travelling here through the bush, there were a lot of dead kangaroos (which isn’t unusual ) but there were loads of huge black bores dead on the road. Hate to hit one of those big buggers! There is no TV reception here, so every man and their dog has a satellite dish.🤣🤣 (Last night we stayed at the small town of Taroom….but they had no TV and no Internet!! 😳😳) Danny Deckchair made another appearance…..you kids will know what I’m talking about 🤣🤣🤣🙄 There is no rail service here,  so the old train station now houses the tourist info centre.  It’s a very interesting town.  Good doggie.. JERICHO Pt 4 or 5?😂

Jericho Drive-In is the smallest in the Southern Hemisphere.     It’s a unique experience to watch the latest movies in the comfort of your own car….or in one of the canvas seats in the pavilion, it holds 36 cars and was built in 1969.  The theatre operates on the third Saturday of the month and is run by volunteers from the Jericho State School  P & C. Ed reckons he was in the “Corporate Box” 🤭 Apparently they were going to show the “State of Origin” football but the person got sick.  And there was suppose to be a movie on last night……but it was rained out. Poor buggers can’t win. 🤦‍♀️ Had to laugh…..it says they show the latest movies…….looked this up on Google to see what it was all about……2005!! We are in the outback….things move a few years slower out this way but that’s a good thing sometimes.  Stay safe 🦋🦋
