GOING HOME.
After being in Mildura for 8 weeks, and celebrating lots of Birthdays…..we decided instead of travelling around the rest of the State, we would get back to Tweed as there’s just too much flooding happening everywhere.
It was nice to have dry grass underfoot for a change. There were a lot of travellers heading South to their homes to try to avoid bad weather and lots of flooding that was occurring…..and we were going North….which was a concern.
Luckily we got through the worst of it…..avoiding the holes and snakes looking for a dry home.
And across the road was Wally’s Junk Art Gallery. It’s never open but there is Junk everywhere in the garden
We went for a walk into town…..it was lovely and warm in the sun and it was lovely to stretch the legs.
We are only here for one night, then off to Moree tomorrow. We are travelling too fast and too far, and it’s just not the way we travel normally, but it’s necessary to get away from the floods and rain that’s expected again.
So we spent the first night at Hay in their Services Club.

We had no choice as we really wanted to get home.
Oh Lordy though …….the condition of the Road was absolutely dreadful.
The Pot Holes were big enough and deep enough to swim in!!
The roads were so rain effected, the huge Road Trains were just tearing the bitumen up. It couldn’t be helped….as the roads are just so soft.
Where there was suppose to be wheat fields…..it was just an inland sea.
Luckily we got through the worst of it…..avoiding the holes and snakes looking for a dry home.
We did find a dry spot to stop for a coffee.

We spent the night at Forbes, where this time last year our Jeep broke down and was put on the truck, along with our caravan….back to Tweed.

We left this morning and are now parked up at the Narrabri Showgrounds.
It’s a great spot….there’s a few puddles but it’s dry enough.

We are going through so much diesel…..but luckily we can balance it off with overnight stays in free camps and cheap Showgrounds again.
Driving like this is horrible, and we are not enjoying this one little bit. Will be glad to get home. 🌞🌞🥰
