A LITTLE WALK

I woke up this morning to sunshine and looked at the clock that read 5am. I thought the battery had died in the clock, so checked the other clock and that read 5am as well. How strange they both stopped at the same time! 
In actual fact it WAS bloody 5am and that’s because we had to put our clocks back that hour. 😂😂

It takes a couple of days to get used to that hour……it’s only an hour I know, but it still puts me out of whack!ðŸĪŠðŸĪŠ
And we only put them forward in October! 

It’s very very warm again today and very humid. So what do you do when it’s a stinker…..go for a walk around to the waterfront at Scarborough. ðŸĨĩ

It’s a beautiful spot with a small shopping village one side and the waterfront the opposite. 













That’s a Banksia tree he’s feeding from. 




Always thinking…..his brain never stops. 

I forgot to mention there’s a small cafe just outside our caravan gates called 
Sea Salt & Vine.

It’s a lovely little cafe with the nicest coffee and cake.….and we know 🙋‍♀️😊





It’s also just opposite the water so it’s lovely and cool under those trees. 

There was a Christmas Party there this morning for the residents of one of the local Nursing Homes. 
On the tables there’s a spray bottle supplied. It’s for the friendly “Bin Chickens”
(Ibis)….so as well as getting their coffee and a pressie from Santa…..they got to piss off the bloody Ibis. The oldies we’re having so much fun! 🎅🧑‍🎄




There’s a lovely house that sits on a hill overlooking the sea, next to a park. It’s just along from the caravan park. 
Last night in the cool, I sat and looked at that house for ages, just imagining as I tend to do a lot…….looking out to sea  ….wondering …..💕

DUARINGA QLD

After staying two days at Dingo, we decided we would move on. We thought the wind may have settled down a bit today, but of course…it was still blowing…so off we went to tackle it.  Luckily for us we had a great wind break all along as it was quite thick bush. 😊 So a big day driving……all of 40km ðŸĪĢ…we arrived at Duaringa.  We have been here a few times before, but it’s one of our favourite camp spots.  There’s a population of 262 people.  The Dawson River is close by, and supplies Duaringa’s town water. The Dawson and MacKenzie River both join up north-east of Duaringa to form the Fitzroy River, which eventually flows through the city of Rockhampton.  A mural depicting the three rivers is painted on the back of the Duaringa Historical & Info Centre, facing the Capricorn Highway….. WANDOAN QLD

Wandoan is a lovely town in the Western Downs Region. It was formerly known as Juandah. In 1926, it was renamed Wandoan to avoid confusion with Jundah….near Longreach.  Population is 566…..with the median age of people being 38 years old! (You’d have to be young to work on this land) Travelling here through the bush, there were a lot of dead kangaroos (which isn’t unusual ) but there were loads of huge black bores dead on the road. Hate to hit one of those big buggers! There is no TV reception here, so every man and their dog has a satellite dish.ðŸĪĢðŸĪĢ (Last night we stayed at the small town of Taroom….but they had no TV and no Internet!! ðŸ˜ģðŸ˜ģ) Danny Deckchair made another appearance…..you kids will know what I’m talking about ðŸĪĢðŸĪĢðŸĪĢ🙄 There is no rail service here,  so the old train station now houses the tourist info centre.  It’s a very interesting town.  Good doggie.. MORE TRAVELS BACK TO TWEED HEADS.

Left Forbes in the rain and headed to Dunedoo…population 1,000   Lighting wasn’t that good as it decided to come over stormy. We stayed the night at the small caravan park, $30….. bit overpriced, but like everything….the price has gone up.  Next day, after travelling on some horrific roads…..we got to Merriwa. We stayed behind the Pub, which was free, got some shopping an the local IGA, found this lovely Mural on the side wall made out of corrugated iron…. And basically stayed in the caravan as it rained all day and night.  Luckily next day, it had stopped raining, it was very muddy though where we were staying. Yuk  Headed off again, road conditions got worse, and stopped for the night at Gerry’s Plains.  It’s our usual stop free stop over. We found a nice spot next to the fence line, and had an audience as we set up. These horses are always here to greet you every time we come.
