BRIBIE PHOTOS.

Ed had a bad night last night with Covid….feeling really unwell and couldn’t eat anything at all which is so unlike him. It seems like you have really good, and  bad days with this virus….he woke a bit better this morning….but I’m having a yuk sort of day with it all today and we still have no taste. 

Anyway enough of that….we had a good day out yesterday and it was so nice to get out and breathe in that lovely sea air.   

It was a lovely warm day yesterday, and Bribie turned it on for us. 













Everywhere we go, the council do such a great job in keeping everything so clean.  The gardens are also immaculate. The seating under the trees and the tables are so welcome especially with the weather up here.  We were able to get a seat all by ourselves away from other people, to enjoy our takeaway coffee.

So that was our day over on Bribie Island. It was so nice to get out…masks on though. 😷😷😷

Left Forbes in the rain and headed to Dunedoo…population 1,000   Lighting wasn’t that good as it decided to come over stormy. We stayed the night at the small caravan park, $30….. bit overpriced, but like everything….the price has gone up.  Next day, after travelling on some horrific roads…..we got to Merriwa. We stayed behind the Pub, which was free, got some shopping an the local IGA, found this lovely Mural on the side wall made out of corrugated iron…. And basically stayed in the caravan as it rained all day and night.  Luckily next day, it had stopped raining, it was very muddy though where we were staying. Yuk  Headed off again, road conditions got worse, and stopped for the night at Gerry’s Plains.  It’s our usual stop free stop over. We found a nice spot next to the fence line, and had an audience as we set up. These horses are always here to greet you every time we come. So I had a lovely view while doing the dishes out of my kitchen window all afternoon😂😂 So we left that be

SEA LAKE, & MANANGATANG REVISTED.

We left  Charlton this morning in the fog. It didn’t take long to lift, and then the sun came through. It was a little windy, but luckily we weren’t driving into it.  As we do, we zig zaged and went the long way, stopping at Nandaly for lunch. Ed used to deliver there when he worked for Dons Smallgoods.  They have a pub, and the shop that Ed delivered to had been closed down for what looked like a long time.  Population 30  What they have done, is built a lovely free stop over for campers. There’s showers,  toilets, and two power sockets for caravans to plug into.  There was no one there to take advantage of it all though as they built it so people could drop into the pub for a feed.  So on we went after lunch along the Calder Highway and turned into what Google maps said was the way to Chinkapook.  Well we must have blinked as we couldn’t find it…….but 17 people live there! FROM MUSWELLBROOK TO GRAFTON NSW

Between Muswellbrook and Singleton there were quite a few huge coal mines, and a huge power station. This Lake was built specifically by this huge Power Station…to cool down it down…and at its deepest is 35 metres deep.   The next town from there was Singleton, another mining town. We stopped for lunch, got out of the car and there was a terrible smell…..which we thought was just from all of the mines. So we went to get Subway for lunch, in the big shopping centre there….sat outside and we could still smell it.  Finished lunch then all of a sudden the alarm went off in the big shopping mall….and a recorded voice said “This is an emergency ……evacuate immediately” 😳 …..turns out it was a gas leak…..so off we went far, far away and let the fire brigade deal with it. We then drove all the way back to Muswellbrook and we’re glad to get there.  Next day we headed off and we arrived at Grafton and found this a nice place to camp for  two days.
