WORMS

Nope…..not me…🤣🤣🤣

This area here at Scarborough and Redcliffe is a fishing paradise. There’s lots of fish around the area, and to be able to catch them…..you need bait.

And this is when worms are needed.

Out the front of us here at the park I’ve shown you lots of nice photos of the water.
But what happens here when the tide goes out…..doesn’t look very pleasant at all…..so I don’t show that bit…..but today I learnt that the yucky bits are just as important as the pretty bits.

As you can see… ( as well as me and my shadow…..) the tide here goes out for a very long way.

This is another shot looking back towards the caravan park.

What happens is, there’s a lot of weed that gets dragged in on the tide…and when the tide goes out….under that weed and gravel are beautiful, thick, juicy worms. And the fish love those worms.

So at low tide, all the fishermen…and women, come down with their garden forks and buckets, and dig.

That shelf goes out for a very long way, and it’s not unusual to see what looks like people fishing way out in the water, but in actual fact they are standing on that shelf as it’s still shallow.

So as well as being a beautiful place for us tourists, the yucky bit is also beautiful to the fishermen and women who get worms! 😂
Rock worms………”Rockies” to the locals.

Take care ❤️❤️

***** I’ve just gone down to the water and it’s low tide….

So this is all the weed …….it does go out again when the tide turns. If it doesn’t all go, a tractor will clear what’s left behind so the kids can play and build sandcastles.
I might add …….it’s not like seaweed…..so there is no smell….

And if you hold your tongue right you might be able to see people out there already…..getting worms 😂

It’s still a beautiful place to be…..
