ANOTHER HUMID DAY AND NIGHT.

Well so much for taking a break from blogging! 😂😂

I seem to find to be finding things to talk about as there’s always something going on. 

Especially this weather. 



The humidity is a shocker at 85%. I’ve just come back from my evening walk around the park (yep….cricket is on 😂) and it’s like being in a sauna….at 8.30 at night. Phew. 🥵

There’s lots of families in the park, being the weekend, and, we are only an hour from Brisbane, they come down for the beautiful beaches we have here. 

By tomorrow they will pack up and leave.  They have a special on here for us that want to stay a while, as it’s stay for 7 days and pay for 6. Which makes it cheap. 

Last night we got in the car and drove to Coolangatta. It was busy, but we found a park outside McDonalds. 
So……as you do when it’s hot…..I went in and ordered 2 chocolate sundaes……only to be told they had run out of ice cream!😡 how dare they when I fancied an ice cream. I can’t remember when we last had a Maccas sundae……so pissed off. 😤😤

So off we went for a walk towards Kirra Beach ❤️




It was so hot, you couldn’t see Surfers for the humidity..





I love this place ❤️




This high rise on the right is where Gerry will be staying for 2 weeks. He is so excited. He arrives on the 18th I think. It’s called the Beach House, and they are picking them up from the airport with all their luggage 😉

I will take lots of photos of the place and the view…..hope it’s not too high up as Gerry and Ed don’t do heights very well 😂

Michelle this is the old Kirra Pub that was all renovated and then they knocked it all down……what a waste!





It’s going to be a huge high rise. Shame really as it was a nice little pub. 

This is what it’s going to look like.  Apartments start at $1.6 million! 🤪😳 if you’re interested. 






It’s just like getting rid of the old coffee and ice cream kiosk on top of Greenmount…😔……terrible. 

That’s progress unfortunately. 

Anyway, that was our walk……and by the time we got back to the car our tongues were hanging on the ground. Thank goodness for car air conditioning. 🥶

    Good lord, that is such a shame about the pub! What a spot though, if I only had 1.6 mil 🥴

Left Forbes in the rain and headed to Dunedoo…population 1,000   Lighting wasn’t that good as it decided to come over stormy. We stayed the night at the small caravan park, $30….. bit overpriced, but like everything….the price has gone up.  Next day, after travelling on some horrific roads…..we got to Merriwa. We stayed behind the Pub, which was free, got some shopping an the local IGA, found this lovely Mural on the side wall made out of corrugated iron…. And basically stayed in the caravan as it rained all day and night.  Luckily next day, it had stopped raining, it was very muddy though where we were staying. Yuk  Headed off again, road conditions got worse, and stopped for the night at Gerry’s Plains.  It’s our usual stop free stop over. We found a nice spot next to the fence line, and had an audience as we set up. These horses are always here to greet you every time we come. SEA LAKE, & MANANGATANG REVISTED.

We left  Charlton this morning in the fog. It didn’t take long to lift, and then the sun came through. It was a little windy, but luckily we weren’t driving into it.  As we do, we zig zaged and went the long way, stopping at Nandaly for lunch. Ed used to deliver there when he worked for Dons Smallgoods.  They have a pub, and the shop that Ed delivered to had been closed down for what looked like a long time.  Population 30  What they have done, is built a lovely free stop over for campers. There’s showers,  toilets, and two power sockets for caravans to plug into.  There was no one there to take advantage of it all though as they built it so people could drop into the pub for a feed.  So on we went after lunch along the Calder Highway and turned into what Google maps said was the way to Chinkapook.  Well we must have blinked as we couldn’t find it…….but 17 people live there! FROM MUSWELLBROOK TO GRAFTON NSW

Between Muswellbrook and Singleton there were quite a few huge coal mines, and a huge power station. This Lake was built specifically by this huge Power Station…to cool down it down…and at its deepest is 35 metres deep.   The next town from there was Singleton, another mining town. We stopped for lunch, got out of the car and there was a terrible smell…..which we thought was just from all of the mines. So we went to get Subway for lunch, in the big shopping centre there….sat outside and we could still smell it.  Finished lunch then all of a sudden the alarm went off in the big shopping mall….and a recorded voice said “This is an emergency ……evacuate immediately” 😳 …..turns out it was a gas leak…..so off we went far, far away and let the fire brigade deal with it. We then drove all the way back to Muswellbrook and we’re glad to get there.  Next day we headed off and we arrived at Grafton and found this a nice place to camp for  two days.
