FORBES NSW

We have a love/hate relationship with Forbes. We have been staying at Forbes when we pass through this town for a number of years now.

It’s a lovely country town with supermarkets, a small Kmart Hub, and a lovely supermarket called Bernardo’s which also has a huge variety shop attached to it.

If you need something, you will always find it in Bernardo’😂

Forbes is also where our Jeep broke down 😢, and we had to get it, and our caravan towed all the way back to Tweed.
I loved that car, even though it was an expensive car to maintain, and was so sorry to see it go. If I was ever lucky enough to buy a new car, it would definitely be a Jeep.

So we stay at a lovely camp right along the river every time we stay here.

It’s a great walk over this bridge and you are in the town centre. Unfortunately, not so long ago, this whole town was under water from the bad floods.

They have done a great job in restoring the town so we are always happy to spend money by doing our shopping and fill up with  petrol.

Coming into the town you can still see the damage on the roads, and the Town before Forbes, is Parkes, where the big satellite Dish is located, and they also are trying to recover from the floods.

You can still see all the water that lies in the paddocks as it looks like an inland sea.  So much damage of farms, crops and roads. 😢

We went for a walk around the town and found this letterbox in one of the houses.

So much work in that, it’s huge!

That’s us for a couple of days….relaxing in Forbes.

Stay safe everyone ❤️❤️
