********UPDATE ON THE RAIN…….

Well, the rain was relentless, it just went on and on…..and then I saw 4 council workers just down from our caravan, looking at the torrent of water flowing very fast in the storm water drain that runs along beside us. 

I went out with my umbrella and asked would that big concrete drain overflow? 

He said it had already broke through the bank just a bit further down from us, and the water was flooding out. 

So we decided to go ask the caretaker to come and look and what did he think.

By the time he came, the water had risen very quickly and was just below our van step. 

We had to pack up everything, and found that our roll out awning would not roll back in. 🙄

Honestly you couldn’t make this shit up. 

We were wet through, couldn’t see out of our bloody glasses for the rain, and we were both trying to get this huge awning to retract. I don’t know how we did it, but it finally went back in.

By this time, the water was rising quickly. Our neighbours decided to move as well.

So we are now parked right on the fence of the race track. 

It’s not ideal, but we are safe, as not long after we moved, our site was a sea of flood water. 

It’s still raining, heavy, but we are on terra firmer, so we will sleep well. The van is a mess, there are leaks everywhere, but we are safe…..for which we are so grateful for. 

Just looking at the weather, and we are in for a heatwave on Wednesday. 🥵
