CHARLTON, VICTORIA.

Charlton is a lovely little town situated on the banks of the Avoca River. It is a wheat, oats and barley growing town. The Charlton feedlot is the largest beef feedlot in Victoria. Wool and fat lambs also contribute to the local economy here.

Ed found us a lovely place to stay….on the Wikicamps App.

We didn’t need power, so we opted for the non-powered site up the back, away from other people.

We have a great spot in amongst the green lawn and lovely flowering wattle trees. We have water on tap, so we can use our own shower and own washing machine, which is great.

Beautiful Grevillea and Wattle.

The weather has been cool at night, but the diesel heater does the job and so does the hot water bottle. I did get up in the night to re-heat the water bottle and found the temperature at O degree…. πŸ₯Ά
The days here though are just beautiful with cloudless blue skies.

So as the sign says, we paid $10 for the first night and the next two nights were free. There has been so much to see here as we’ve never stopped in Charlton before.

The park here is so pretty, and we are right near the river.

You cross the suspension bridge….which of course Ed insisted on making it move…. Then wished he hadn’t πŸ˜‚

And you end up in a lovely park.

This statue started as an old tree trunk, so clever.

There’s a bowling club….

So we have another day here before we move on to Boort. We are off for another walk, I’m thinking we will get our 10,000 steps in today for sure.

Ed’s just off to empty the cassette toilet. I bought him a new one as it has wheels, so much easier than putting it in the car, or carrying it to the dump point.
He now walks along proud as punch wheeling our number 1’s πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ he’s a Vuik, he doesn’t give a toss πŸ‘ (we don’t use it for number 2’s) Ed would never empty that 🀣🫣🀒 and I wouldn’t expect him too…

So that’s the joys of camping and living in your van. What else would we be doing 🀣🀣🀣…..

Take care ❤️❤️❤️
