MANANGATANG VICTORIA.
We’ve had a great 3 weeks catching up with family, and while the weather is so nice, we thought it was a good time to travel and see Victoria. So this morning we packed up, pulled out of the caravan park (which we will never return too), and are on the road again.
It was a beautiful spot.
It’s also known for it’s huge day on the Country Racing Calendar, 2nd Sunday in October every year when the town swells to over 3,000 people for the event.
Ed found the local bowls club that looked like it hadn’t been played on for a while.
Peak hour in Manangatang ๐
This park was in the middle of town..and there were Mallee Stumps everywhere, as like the notice board said, they deserve a symbol of respect and gratitude..
All these sculptures had little hidden bits of pieces in them, from badges, tools, taps, marbles, even life membership badges. All different things that meant so much to the residents of the town was in them, even bits of crockery from surrounding farms.
Lots of shops have closed down, I think there was a pub, fish and chip shop and a bakery that were still open.
We stopped for our morning cuppa at a very small town called Wemen, population 100….approx 110 klm from Mildura. It has a small petrol station/general store, and Country Fire Authority Shed.
It was a beautiful spot.
We then drove on to Manangatang, a small town in north-west Victoria, with a population of 274, and is a wheat growing district, with the silos being built in 1942.

We have pulled up at the Manang Travellers Rest camping spot in the “town centre”๐
You can camp here for 3 days free…and they provide very clean toilets and hot showers.
You can also borrow a DVD or a Book, and are encouraged to leave a book in its place.
After setting up the van we went for a walk around the “town”

There’s also a great kids park to play in and a pump for your bike tyres.

We also did a walk around the streets to look at the beautiful old homes and gardens.
The local hospital is only available on Fridays ๐ณ…..Off to Sea Lake tomorrow to look at the Pink Lakes.
Take care everyone. ❤️
