FINLAY NSW

Finlay is a lovely little town in the Riverina region of NSW.

We stopped at the local Showgrounds for 4 days to explore the area. We had power and water hookup for $20 @ night, and it was close enough that we could walk into town.  There was a huge IGA, that sold everything and anything, a coffee shop, which had so many different varieties of pies, and the cakes…..oh yum!
Our little electric fire decided to die on us so luckily there was a Beta Electrical in the town so picked up one from there which was lucky….it’s been freezing at night.

As usual, we did lots of walking around the town as it’s the only way to find all there is to see.

There was a lovely lake in the town that you could walk all the way around it, which we did. So pretty.

Gorgeous day as well.

This place was a small museum that looked interesting. Unfortunately though it wasn’t open. We come across this quite often as these places are usually run by volunteers, and they are few and far between.

We were treated with beautiful sunsets every night.

We went for a drive to Berrigan, which was about 25klm away. It was so nice to be able to go for a drive without the caravan being attached to the car……..(it’s like getting home and getting changed from jeans into your favourite pair of tracky pants)πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‰

Another lovely little town with lots of beautiful old buildings and another great coffee shop…and these towns sure know how to bake a cake….yum.

We have left Finlay after picking the eyes out of it …….and were driving towards West Wyalong when we found this little town of Beckom…..just off the highway.

It’s a lovely small town that’s been forgotten about as the highway doesn’t go through it anymore.

There’s a pub ……

Which only opens between 4pm and 7pm. They don’t serve food, but they put pizza and snacks on the bar. πŸ˜‚πŸ€£
And that’s it! No corner store……nothing but the pub.

This small town of 172 people, have provided this lovely spot to park up and connect to power for travellers.  They also provide clean toilets. It’s a shame they don’t provide a place to donate something towards the electricity used.

This small area was once a Bowls Club.

Unfortunately, all the bowlers have passed on by the looks of it.

That’s the greens πŸ₯΄ and the clubhouse……

Sad to see it all like this now. Ed had a lovely time though looking through all the cupboards and boxes of stuff. So like Opa! He can find a use for a piece  of string can Ed.

There is a playground for the kids..and aBBQ area and skate park. We went for a walk around the houses……all 10 of them and didn’t spot life anywhere.

We came across the only two buildings …(.apart from the pub.)

Apparently they had a flood recently too.

And loads of Canola growing in the distance.

So that’s our camp for the night. Minus 1degree overnight. So glad we’ve got electric blankets. πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

Take care ❤️
