CHARLTON Pt 2
There has been so much to see in this small town. This is the thing with us, we just love to pick the eyes out of each and every place we go too as you never know what these towns have to show you. There is always something that we find interesting, whether it be just the nice houses to look at when we walk up,and down the streets, or what we come across walking along a river.

Now while we are not really bird people, if we were to come across a

Then Ed spotted the Rhinoceros, lurking in the bush….

It did look like one if you squinted your eyes and stuck out your tongue 🙄😊

We didn’t spot any birds, but we came across the Charlton Trotting track. And that made Ed’s eyes light up….

He had a horse run around this track, so of course we had to have a look around this place.

It was a lovely complex, and every one of the horse stalls had a lovely painting above it. It was hard to take a photo of them, but they were all so nice.

This is just an example….poor Isaac….but they were all so lovely. Lots of Aboriginal paintings….

And I was told Ian McCallum had driven ones of their horses…Normandy Boy at Nyah…..and it won. Oh the memories….😂😂🐴🐎

Out of all the tracks I’ve been at, this would have to be the nicest….

They had demolished their old home, but left the front of it up with its old chimney. They have built a new home, further out on the block, but I’m thinking this must have possibly been an old family home that they didn’t want to knock down completely, and have kept it as a feature in the yard with plants growing in it.

The River here had a walking track beside it. So if there’s a track, we always like to see where it leads as you never know what’s at the end of it.
Like today….
Now while we are not really bird people, if we were to come across a
Red Rumped Parrot, or a Sacred Kingfisher, it would be nice to see…😂😂…so we crossed the swinging bridge and followed the signs.

This is just another reason we love to stop at all these smaller towns as you never know what you will come across when you go for a walk.
We followed the river back and came across this farm block.

So back along the river, and home to our van. We will do one more walk in the morning and then take off.
****we didn’t see one bird on our walk 🤓😂😂
Stay safe ❤️❤️❤️
What a nice track, lucky dad found it.. he is a magnet for trotting tracks and bowls clubs 😉
